Amazing dumplings! We found this restaurant a number of years ago and we have returned every time we visit Melbourne. The food continues to be consistently delicious. The potstickers are a real treat.

My husband and I stopped here for dinner and ordered fried dumplings and noodle soup. I would consider these dishes to be great Chinese comfort food at a very reasonable price. The fried dumplings had the right amount of crisp on them which you don't always find at every Chinese restaurant. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for a satisfying Chinese meal.

Shandong Mama is a causal Chinese dumpling restaurant in Chinatown. They offer quick service, no frills dining experience with delicious food. I really liked their egg and chive dumpling which was plump and well balanced. The mixed rice combo dishes are also great value.

Always my go-to when I’m in Melbourne. The handmade dumplings are excellent, with great texture and flavour, and everything tastes fresh and authentic. Lunch specials offer a good selection and are great value. Consistently good food and well worth a visit.

Shandong Mama is always a go-to when we’re in Melbourne Chinatown. We ordered the fungus prawn dumplings and absolutely loved them — delicate, thin skins with generous, flavourful fillings. This is our usual spot for dumplings and it never disappoints. Consistently good quality, great texture, and exactly what you want when craving proper dumplings.

Good, solid place to go for Chinese dumplings. We had the prawn, pork & chives & zucchini fried dumplings & egg & chives with rice & they were all really good.

I had doubts about this squid ink boiled dumplings from Shandong Mama. Their standouts dumplings have flavour profiles that are quite unusual. But having now tried one of them, I say 不得不愛🤔 The dumplings were very juicy and tasty plus the squid filling does give it that nice crunchy chewy bite which is equally satisfying. The dumplings are unique but they are also quite pricey though… either way I’m too curious and want to come back to try their mackerel ones ❤️
