Shanghai Taste

we had lunch at a busy Sunday afternoon. staffs were very friendly helping us to order as my phone almost no power at all. we ordered crispy skin chicken and juicy pork dumplings. they were very amazing. definitely we will be back to try more at next time

We had dinner at Shanghai Taste and it was a really bad experience. We paid over $90, but the food was awful. The chicken was undercooked, very hard to chew, and had a bad smell. The dumplings didn’t taste good at all. Most of the food had a strange taste and smell, especially the meat. For the price, we expected much better. We were very disappointed and won’t be coming back.

Honestly, this is the best Chinese food I’ve had so far in Melbourne. The food was much better than expected. Very clean, great service, good portion sizes, fresh ingredients and so delicious. Our Chinese friend swears by this place and I can see why. The rainbow beef, drunken chicken, pork belly and fish with picked vegetable stew were really good!

This gem of a restaurant tucked away in the food court at the Emporium serves high quality fresh food. It’s also great value. The dumplings were especially delicious. One of the best Chinese restaurants in Melbourne!

Nice dumpling place, unexpected when linked to a food court. We were pretty hungry, so forgot to take a photo before we smashed some dishes. Ordered Broccoli with oyster sauce. Prawn wontons with chilli and peanut sauce (these were awesome though not spicy ) xiao long bao Chicken and prawn Shu mai Crispy chicken with garlic chili sauce and rice (sauce was not spicy) Bbq pork buns Custard buns And a pot of jasmine tea All dishes were very nice, though I think the spice level was turned down. Worth a visit if you are nearby.
