Tokyo 7 Japanese Restaurant

I didn't know how I found this secret place but surely one of the best restaurants in Melbourne. Highly recommended.

Celebrated a mates birthday here and the staff/food/ambience were absolutely amazing! Did a walk-in for five people and the staff were very accomodating and patient with us! Ordered an array of great food from curry, ramen, and teishoku sets! Staff were very sweet! The waiter helped hide the cake and provided utensils! Super nice and pleasant! Would come back to try their other menu items!

This Japanese place truly takes you on a trip! The food is just wow — crunchy, tasty, and full of authentic flavor. We usually order delivery almost every weekend, but this time we decided to visit in person, and the experience was even better! We ordered a bit of everything: takoyaki, hurimaki (spring rolls), fried chicken, edamame, rice, tempura prawns, sake, beer, and yozu — it was a real feast! We ended up completely full and happy 😅 We also tried a dessert; it wasn’t really our type of flavor, but it wasn’t bad at all. The guy who served us was super friendly, and the atmosphere felt like a time machine full of memories — posters, figures, and anime art everywhere. We’re Colombian, but we grew up watching anime and playing video games, so being there brought back so many childhood memories. They even have trees where you can hang your wishes, which makes the place feel truly magical. We’ll definitely be coming back many more times!

Really tasty spot in the city! Loved the pork katsu and unagi don, the beef brisket tomato pot was super comforting, and the gyutan don was on point. Drinks were refreshing too (the strawberry + Sprite + Yakult mix is a must-try). Chill vibes and nice staff — will definitely come back.

Was on a business trip and chanced upon this lovely place. Wanted a quick fixed and was recommended by my business associate to Tokyo 7. The food did not disappoint at all. So good, I came back the following day to sample other dishes before submitting this review. I like the fact that the waiter smiled at you once you come in. They served water which I appreciate a lot despite them offering a wide range of beverages. The star is the food. Ramen was favourful and spicy with thick sliced of pork belly. Yummy! Curry was spicy and thick. Chicken cutley is crispy. The only 'complain' I had was that they gave me too little curry sauce! I want them to drench it with curry. Sorry, I'm just nitpicking now. 😂 Seriously, if you are in town and craving for Japanese food. Do consider this place! I know I will dropped by on my next business trip here!

Delicious Japanese food, plenty of options for everyone, amazing atmosphere resembling a real restaurant in the heart of Tokyo. I have many dietary restrictions, but what I liked is that the staff was very flexible to modify my bento box and target my preferences. The only issue was that I went to eat with my 3 other friends, and while the three of us got food at a similar time, my other friend had to wait 10 more minutes for his meal. That could have been avoided with better planning in the kitchen/front desk.
