David’s Master Pot - Clayton -Malatang, hotpot

I love David’s hot pot because they have more Asian choices available than other chain hot pot stores. However, this Clayton store is just atrocious to me because of the staff they hire. Been there 3 times and I gotta say I’d rather drive further to the Glen Waverley store to dine in than eating at the Clayton store. I also avoid coming to the Clayton store even for takeaway that’s how much I don’t like it here and I think people should be mindful before going in. And here is why: 1. Their fridge section is disgusting and barely cared for. Food presentation is messy and things fall into vents, hanging on other boxes, etc. and not tidied up regularly. Floor was always sticky too. Please keep up a regular clean and tidy up. 2. Please train your staff up to standards on how to push trolleys and wipe down tables. All 3 times I was there, my partner was sitting in the walkway side of the table. And all 3 times a staff member pushed/yeeted/dragged the cleaning trolley carelessly around and bumped into him and other customers sitting or walking around. The tables were also never wiped clean enough. 3. A big enough store floor space but poorly designed layout and table configurations that there’s always a line waiting for a table. Hope one day I’ll return to the store and see at least a cleaner fridge section so I don’t feel so disgusted picking my food.

Ordered the small spicy level, Flavour is Good and nice only think to take note is the it might get to numbing but overall is a really good bowl of mala Stir fry. Need to hit 800g for the mala stir fry

Fantastic. Tasted great and reasonably priced. $4.28 per 100g which is equivalent to Dragon Hot Pot. The only thing is that if you want the stir fry option, you’ll need to purchase a minimum of 800g making this a more appropriate option when sharing or if you’re really hungry. That said, I really enjoyed the signature Malatang soup base today.

Similar to other David's Master Hotpot branches but a little different. They have a few items that may not be available in others. Especially love thise yiu tiao which is soaked in the sauce! Also, this place served the meal on this wok, which is really cool. And on weekdays, it's a little quieter which is really nice. Overall, still the same great taste! Favorite is always the dry hotpot sauce. Yummy!
