Affordable and comforting Japanese feast @osakabench_au is perfect for weekday or weekend dinner goals.Served in generous quantity, their dishes are truly flavoursome and hearty to eat on a hot day or even on a chilly Melbourne evening.What we had:Takoyaki,Chicken teriyaki okomiyaki set,Japanese gravy omu rice,Giant Hokkaido scallops teppanyakiEverything was packed with so much flavours. Especially the scallops and the omu rice were just incredibly delicious. And I highly recommend it. The takoyaki were great too and the okomiyaki set was so filling and yum.The prices are reasonable and the service is very prompt here. is this the best okonomiyaki in melb?! ❤️‍🔥@osakabench_au is a tiny japanese restaurant with only 14 seats, similar to the cosy & intimate spots you’d find in japan 🇯🇵 their specialty is okonomiyaki (japanese pancake), however they offer a wide range of other authentic dishes too 🥢I ordered:- hokkaido scallops- takoyakiyaki with pork- omurice with curry saucethe scallops were a tad saltier than I would have liked but other than that, everything was 🤌🏼 loveddd the okonomiyaki, it was perfectly cooked & they were generous with the toppings.defs worth checking out if you’re looking for a cheap & quick meal in the city, or if you’re just craving okonomiyaki — I reckon this one might be the best I’ve had in melb 🥰😛[INVITE / COLLAB 🤝] thanks @osakabench_au for the lovely service & @morus_brandmanagement for organising 💓#melbourne #melbournefoodie #cheapeatsmelbourne #okonomiyaki #japanesefood

Quick and convenient Japanese foods near Flinders Street station. I love the takoyaki and okonomiyaki!! Not the best Japanese spot in Melbourne but if you are looking for quick lunch, dinner or snacks with good price, here for you!

Good food in a good location I was walking past and this place just caught the corner of my eye walked in and had lunch. I got omurice with curry sauce and a side of tatsuta-age (fried chicken) The Omurice was great my first time eating it and was not disappointed The tatsuta-age was a bit over cooked in my opinion just alittle bit too hard to bite into but the flavor was there Overall great place for lunch

Osaka Bench is such a great little spot tucked away on Flinders Lane. A cozy little spot in the city, perfect for a casual date night. The food feels like real Japanese comfort, the omurice and okonomiyaki being such standouts with everything coming out fresh and full of flavour. It’s a small, intimate space with a laid-back vibe, which makes it easy to just relax and enjoy each other’s company over good food. Service is quick and friendly, which also makes it perfect for a casual lunch or a bite before heading out. The space is small and can get busy, but it adds to the cozy, street-style vibe. Definitely worth checking out if you’re after authentic Japanese comfort food in the city.

Tried this very small eat and go looking Japanese place on a weekday. Ordered ramens and it was below average. Shop was not busy at all and our orders came in luke warm. People working here seems like they didn’t want to be there and busy on their mobiles instead. Go somewhere else. Not worth trying this one.
